NBC Universal open casting call for Native American Actors

Talent representatives from NBC Universal will be meeting with Native American actors for non-specific roles in March, 2009. This open call is designed to increase diversity in NBC Universal's expanding talent pool for Universal Pictures films and NBC television programs. The event is being sponsored by the DiverseCity NBC and the NBC Talent Diversity Initiative.

As part of NBC's ongoing commitment to diversity, the NBC Talent Diversity Initiative was created to promote & sustain on-camera diversity through community involvement and development, showcasing non-traditional casting choices, and creating programs to raise awareness at NBC and within the entire entertainment community.

NBC Universal is committed to attracting and retaining the best and most diverse talent. Doing so provides a secure, powerful and competitive advantage in the media and entertainment industry. As part of this commitment NBC Universal has established the Diversity Council and named Paula Madison as the EVP, Diversity & Chief Diversity Officer. The Public Theater will also host NBC Universal's Native American Talent Outreach panel discussion and networking open call. NBC executives will offer a free industry panel discussion geared toward Native artists on March 9 at 6:30 PM.

Universal Pictures feature film Open Casting Call in New York City

The casting directors for a Universal Pictures Pictures feature film, starring Steve Martin and Meryl Streep, are seeking the following: California types (upscale, well-put-together Santa Barbara residents–sun-kissed complexion/natural-looking tan a plus); bakers and bakery staff with professional bakery experience; college students, family and faculty for NYC graduation scene; Hispanic people.

Come dressed for the role for which you are submitting yourself and be prepared to have a digital picture taken. You must bring original current ID and I-9 information. Come coiffed & well dressed to be considered. CAPS Universal representatives will be present to register actors’ I-9 information. You must bring original current ID.
