Storytelling Pictures open casting call for TV Show Host in Grand Rapids

Storytelling Pictures is holding an open casting call for a female to co-host a new Grand Rapids, Michigan Television show called "MYGR Weekend." This will be an engaging, fun, and informative 1/2 hour weekly entertainment TV show That will be aired on WXSP, WOTV4 and WOODTV.com. The new show is designed to creatively promote and highlight West Michigan with three hosts who are 20, 30 and 40 something years of age. They will compete against each other for the top suggestions on how and where to spend your weekend based on "Someplace to Eat, Somewhere to Go, and Something to Do."

Each host's suggestions will highlight weekend happenings from concerts to restaurants to conventions, clubs, plays, festivals, movies, community events, parks, parades and off-the-radar recreation. These suggestions become a friendly competition between the three to offer you the best weekend idea. The winning host is determined by a public voting on various social networking sites.

The show will saturate the West Michigan media via multiple television broadcasts, online streaming, website interactivity, heavy social networking, billboards, community marketing and TV commercials.

A launch date of February 2, 2011 is being slated for the Season 1 broadcast kickoff.

The producers are looking for the following co-host:

● Female, 30-39 years of age.

● Non-SAG member (Screen Actors Guild). This is a non-union contract.

● West Michigan resident – within a 30-mile radius from Grand Rapids.

● Outgoing personality, energetic, quick-witted with good interpersonal skills and the ability to improvise.

● A flexible schedule is must.

● Knowledge of downtown Grand Rapids helpful.

● Diverse talent preferred but not mandatory.

● On-camera or public speaking experience preferred, but also not mandatory.

ACTRA open casting call for NBC Universal in Toronto

As part of ACTRA's diversity initiative, ACTRA Toronto will be hosting a special casting call on behalf of NBC Universal. Talent representatives from the Los Angeles based media company will be in Toronto to meet First Nations, Metis and Inuit actors for non-specific roles.

This open call is designed to add diverse, new faces to the company's production entities and its expanding talent pool for film and television. NBC Universal produces shows such as Warehouse 13 and Covert Affairs, which currently shoot in Canada.

target=Onyx Pearl has announced that a feature film adaptation of the novel "And Yet, You Still Chose Me", by co-author Kimberly Ray, will be filmed in Savannah, GA next Summer, 2011. The 1980's era drama will be directed by Perla Faye Humphrey. No stranger to dramatic material, Humphrey produced and directed the award winning features "Unforgiven Sins" and "7 Days a Yellow", both filmed in Atlanta, Georgia.

Set in a poverty-stricken small town near Savannah, the film follows the life of Shelley MacDonald, a naive little girl with big dreams of going to college. But one dreadful night, the unimaginable takes place that spirals her innocent world into mayhem, rips her family apart, and catapults her on a self-destructive journey into womanhood as the barriers to a better life stack against her, and going to college becomes an elusive goal.

The film's casting directors are holding open casting calls for lead roles, supporting roles, day players, and extras in Los Angeles and Atlanta. Production is seeking ALL nationalities and ALL ages. Principal photography for the film is scheduled to begin in May/June of 2011.

Dancer Talent Search for new Paula Abdul competition series 'Live To Dance'

CBS is holding an open casting call in Los Angeles for a new reality-competition series with Paula Abdul, "Live To Dance". Dancers who want the opportunity to showcase their talents are encouraged to attend the open call and show why they deserve to be a contestant on the show.

The most talented and entertaining dancers will receive a callback to audition for Paula Abdul and a panel of experts, all world-class dancers themselves. Callbacks will take place Saturday and Sunday after each open call date.

In one of the most inclusive talent searches on television, dancers with raw ability in any age group from across the nation, either performing solo or in a group, can audition in any form of dancing from ballet to break dance, tap to tango. Or show them something they have never seen before with your own unique fusion of styles - rock ballet, hip-hop clogging or contemporary mixed with capoeira. Abdul will also serve as coach, mentor and advocate for contestants during the performances and elimination process, providing critical input and guidance, while sharing her experience with hopeful contestants.
