Cut Bank Open Casting Call

'Cut Bank' is shooting in Edmonton, Alberta this Summer, 2013.

The Bedford Falls Company and Stick N' Stone Productions in association with Untitled Entertainment are in production on the feature film "Cut Bank," and the casting team is holding several open casting calls for people interested in working on the movie as fully paid background performers. Shooting will take place in Edmonton, Alberta this Summer. They are seeking people of all ages and types, and no previous experience is required to be considered.

The film's story follows Dwayne McLaren, who has been looking for a way out of his small town upbringing of Cut Bank, Montana since he graduated high school years ago. When he finds himself in the wrong place at the right time, he jumps at a chance to pursue a better life in a bigger city with his girlfriend Cassandra. But luck doesn't exist in Cut Bank, and this perceived good fortune is quickly followed by a flood of bad karma.

Starring in "Cut Bank" is People's Choice Awards winner Liam Hemsworth in the lead role of Dwayne McLaren. Armie Hammer was originally set so star, however Hemsworth was brought on board after Hammer pulled out of the project. Australian actress Teresa Palmer has been cast as Hemsworth's girlfriend Cassandra. Other cast members include two-time Academy Award nominee John Malkovich, Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley, Academy Award winner Billy Bob Thornton, Academy Award nominee Bruce Dern, and Golden Globe Award nominee Michael Stuhlbarg.

Young Artist Award winner Matt Shakman will direct "Cut Bank" from an original screenplay written by Roberto Patino. Two-time Academy Award winner Edward Zwick will produce for The Bedford Falls Company. Also producing is Stone Douglass, Mickey Barold, and Dan Cohen. Laura Rister will serve as executive producer.
