The hit series "Army Wives" has been given a 23-episode sixth season order and casting for the show's guest stars are being cast out of New York, and additional principal actor casting is being done in South Carolina where shooting takes place. There is also an open casting call scheduled for extras - specifically seeking African-American men between the ages of 13 and 25, who weigh 190 pounds or less, and kids/teens of any ethnicity 3-17 years of age.

"Army Wives" has a fantastic cast that includes Kim Delaney, who has won a Primetime Emmy Award and was nominated for two Golden Globes; Catherine Bell (JAG); three-time NAACP Image Award nominee Wendy Davis; Brigid Brannagh (numerous television guest starring roles); Drew Fuller (Charmed); Golden Globe nominee Brian McNamara (Billionaire Boys Club); Terry Serpico (The Departed); and and Sally Pressman, who has announced that she is leaving the show after Season 6.

Season 6 of Army Wives will also include some terrific guest stars in recurring roles. Susan Lucci will play the wife of a retired general. Lucci's character gives Kim Delaney's character, Claudia, advice on how to deal with a potential new rival played by "Lie to Me" actress Kelli Williams. ER's Kellie Martin, Rescue Me's Robert John Burke and Boston Legal's Ryan Michelle Bathe will play recurring roles. Martin will play Nicole, a member of the military police, while Bathe will play the head of a Youth Center. Burke will appear in seven episodes as an extremely competitive Army General and the husband of Kelly Williams' character, Jackie.

Shooting takes place in various locations such as the Charleston Air Force Base, the old Navy base, in the City of North Charleston, where they built a fake town for the series, and a sound stage for the show that is located in the Oakridge Shopping Center off Dorchester Road, in the City Of North Charleston. Army Wives is produced by ABC Studios for Lifetime Television.

Story:

Set at fictional U.S. Army Base Fort Marshall, "Army Wives" follows the struggles, dreams and friendships of a diverse group of women - and one man - living with their spouses and families. The enlisted characters are members of the fictional 23rd Airborne Division (based on the actual 82nd Airborne Division based at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, North Carolina). The series itself is based on the book "Under the Sabers: The Unwritten Code of Army Wives" by Tanya Biank, who serves as a consultant on the show.
