There are starring and supporting roles for both adults and children. There is no previous acting experience necessary to audition. The film, based on the best-selling novel "We the Animals" by Justin Torres, tells the story of the harsh, yet loving dynamic of a mixed-race, working-class family, seen through the eyes of the youngest son as he discovers his artistic identity.

Emmy Award nominee Jeremiah Zagar will direct "We The Animals" from an adapted screenplay that he wrote with Dan Kitrosser. Jeremy Yaches will produce. This is a passion project for Zagar, who has been developing this film for several years with the support of the Sundance Institute and the Independent Filmmaker Project.
