The upcoming feature film "American Reunion," which is the fourth film in the "American Pie" series is in pre-production and there is an open casting call scheduled for people interested in working on the film as extras stand-ins, and photo doubles for the films stars.
In addition to the three original films, there have been four "American Pie Presents" direct-to-DVD Universal Home Entertainment videos, however these are American Pie spinoff movies, not prequels or sequels. Paul and Chris Weitz were not attached in any way with these videos, but they are indeed executive producers of "American Reunion", which is being called part-sequel, part-reboot.
Adam Herz of Terra Firma Films is on board as executive producer. Herz created all of the original characters from the first three "American Pie" films, and also did the same on all four of the "American Pie Presents" direct-to-DVD videos. Another production alumni from the original films, Craig Perry of Practical Pictures, will co-produce.
Universal Pictures released the first film in the "American Pie" franchise on July 9, 1999, and it quickly became a worldwide pop culture sensation, bringing forth two prompt sequels. The original three films in the series were produced on a total combined budget of $95 million, and ended up grossing over 3/4 of a billion dollars worldwide.
Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg will direct "American Reunion," and have also written the script. They are known for writing and/or directing all of the the "Harold and Kumar" films.

The dreams which seemed so random now start to take real shape as we understand where she came from.
