2009-2010 NHL Dallas Stars Ice Girls Auditions

The NHL Dallas Stars Ice Hockey Team will hold open auditions July 11, 2009 for women who would like to be considered for the upcoming NHL season.

Requirements:
  • 18 years of age on or before July 11, 2009.
  • High school graduate or a G.E.D.
  • If selected, must reside in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and have reliable means of transportation.
  • Must be willing to attend all practices, games, and other related activities.

Preliminary Round: Saturday, July 11 9:00am-5:00pm
Semi-Final Round: Sunday, July 12 9:00am-5:00pm
Finals: July 14-17 7:00pm-10:30pm

Interested applicants should complete the Application and Waiver and return them to the Dallas Stars office.

You will receive an e-mail to confirm the receipt of your application.

Please bring the following to the audition:
  • Drivers License for identification
  • Personal Items such as make-up,etc.
  • Water, snacks and a lunch
  • Hockey skates (if you own them)
  • Hockey skates will be available from the StarCenter for the skating portion of the audition
Your make-up should be in shades that compliment and accentuate your natural beauty. Your hair should be in a current hairstyle that compliments your features and does not hide your face. Your nails should be painted in a neutral shade of polish or with a French or American style manicure.

What To Wear:
  • Dance/yoga style pants Midriff-baring top (Dance or athletic bra top)
  • Dance or athletic shoes (dance sneakers, jazz shoes or tennis shoes)
  • Sweater or light jacket
  • You will need to wear the same attire for both days of the auditions
  • Select attire for the audition that is eye-catching & unique

Open Casting Call for feature film "Bending Spoons" in Saginaw, Michigan

An open casting call will be held next Saturday for a new movie being filmed in mid-Michigan.

The movie, called “Bending Spoons,” is produced by Saginaw Township native Mark Rupp.

Already cast in the film, a comedy-drama, is Oscar winner Celeste Holm, Richard Pryor Jr., Lucille Ball's granddaughter, Katharine Luckinbill, and "Matlock" director Daniel Roebuck

“It's an independent film and we have Academy Award and Emmy Award winners in the cast,” said Mark Rupp, executive producer of Bending Spoons. “We will be filming August and September and are doing initial casting the weekend of June 27th.”

Roles are open for bikers, nurses, doctors, grandparents, parents and bodybuilders, as well as children 5 and older, who must come with a parent or legal guardian.

Open Casting Call for Models in Saratoga Springs

QuadPhoto Saratoga is holding an open casting call for experienced and aspiring models of all body types, ages 18 years and older in Saratoga Springs, New York.

The casting session will be held in the QuadPhoto studio with fashion photographers, Jude Goldman and Mark VanAmburgh. Interested participants should dress in casual attire and allot 15-30 minutes for their session.

Appointments are not necessary and there will be no charge. Call the QuadPhoto studio at 581-4689 and press 2 for driving directions.

Audition Notice seeking Child Actors for the "Talk to Strangers" in Connecticut

The Family Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association is seeking non-union child actors for a dramatic, low-budget short film to be shot Columbus Day Weekend, October 10-12, 2009. The film's message relates to the tremendous toll that child custody litigation take on children. The film will include no scenes inappropriate for children.

Great experience and exposure! A multi-Grammy winning composer will contribute to the film’s score and other award-winning professionals will be involved as well.

Principal Roles:

Three siblings from a Caucasian family:

Danny Sherwood: A sweet but anxious 9 to 10-year-old boy who becomes overwhelmed by his parents’ divorce. Must be capable of demonstrating a wide range of emotions with subtlety.

Emily Sherwood: A 14-year-old girl who masks her pain with a hard, sometimes sarcastic demeanor, but shows a softer side as well. Gymnastic experience a plus but not required.

Jake Sherwood: A slightly goofy but lovable 6 to 7-year-old boy who takes his cues from his older brother. Must have ability to cry on cue.

Non-Speaking Roles:

Teenager (1): Cool and seemingly detached African-American 15-year-old waiting in a courthouse reception area, who unexpectedly reveals a sensitive side.

Skateboarders (2): Two boys, about 12 years old, who are good on skateboards; mixed ethnicity.

Little Leaguer (1): One girl, aged 9 to 11, non-Caucasian.
