Do you have dreams of becoming a star? "Search For a Star: The Battle of The Stores" is conducting a Nationwide UK talent search. If you have a talent for singing, dancing or comedy and work in retail, this is your chance for the big time. You could be a star like former Atomic Kitten Liz McClarnon. The nationwide talent search is being supported by the Retail Trust, in association with the Sunday Express, and the biggest names in retail and show business.
The producers are searching for singers, dancers, bands, comedians, variety acts, and other talents to represent your retail store. Individual acts or groups can enter as long as 50 per cent of the act is working in a retail environment or has done so in the past.
As well as performing in front of 1,100 major retailers at the prestigious Retail Trust London Ball at Grosvenor House on January 25, 2010, the four finalists will receive A-list celebrity treatment: a style makeover, perform at the OK! Christmas Party, plus win a selection of fantastic prizes. They will also have a chance to sign on with one of the world's most successful entertainment agencies, CAA, which works with The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent's finalists.
Sir Philip Green, Owner of Arcadia and BHS says, “Retail Trust Search For A Star is going to be a real celebration and I hope that all retailers will join together supporting this campaign to showcase the talent we have in our industry. Judging from what I see on the shop floor, I’m sure there’ll be an abundance of stars willing to take to the stage.”
