Casting Notice for Shadywood Road Productions Feature Film "Haze" in the Washington DC/Baltimore area

Washington, DC Metro Area Feature Film by Shadywood Road Productions is accepting submissions from metro Washington, DC talent for "HAZE" A feature film by David Burkman. Filming will take place in late spring 2009 into summer 2009.

On the heels of his award-winning Independent Film Channel hit, "Breaking Up With Maggie Moore," critically acclaimed director David Burkman (MFA, University of Southern California) is in Washington, D.C. to produce a sophisticated drama about brotherhood. Based loosely on Euripedes’ The Bacchae, Haze tells the story of two brothers whose relationship is strained when one decides to pledge a fraternity and the other does not.

Cast Breakdown:

Jon: 18-22. Cool, Frat Boy-type.

Jessica: 18-22. Hot, Sorority Girl-type.

Ari: 18-22. Nerdy College Student.

Wendy: College Student with a bit more than the freshman 15 and comfortable with it.

College Dean: Mid-Late 40s, Early 50s. Politician. Charming. Former frat boy himself.

College Professor: 50s. Charismatic lecturer; deep, powerful voice.

Additional Roles: College Students of all types.

Casting/Crew Call for Independent Film in Lexington, KY

Shoot Dates: May 10th – May 23th

Shoot Locations: Kentucky Area. Primarily in Lexington, KY and Richmond, KY.

***Both Cast and Crew will have all expenses paid during production. (Meals, Travel, etc.)

Casting For:

Mya CalahanFemale Lead. Age 19-25. Character is youthful, energetic, and has an innocent appeal. Role requires ability to do emotional performances. Role will require availability for all of the shoot dates. Position will also be paid due to such extensive availability requirements.

Frank Beckwith Supporting Male Role. Age 19-25. Majority of the character is careless about life with a “fly through life” attitude. Although kind-hearted to people close to him, he tends to be Impulsive and does not think of consequences. Role also requires ability to do a serious and emotional performance. Role will require availability for 2-3 of the shoot dates.

Ann Female Role. Age 25-35. Character is a very straight-laced, professional loan officer working in a bank. Role will require availability for 2-3 of the shoot dates.

Dr. Peter KaplanMale Role. Age 40-60. Character is blind with a tragic history. He is the older “wise-man” who has been through it all. Role will require availability for 1-2 of the shoot dates.

Wayne AndersonMale Role. Age 25-30. Character is a smooth-talking salesman. He is a concert promoter. Role will require availability for 1-2 of the shoot dates.

Actors:

Headshot is preferred, but not mandatory. All readers will be given specific scenes to read from, however, monologues are optional. All auditions will be taped by the casting team for selection purposes only.

Crew Call:

For anyone with a background on working crew for sets. Positions are available for anyone with experience in/as: Script Supervisor, Grip, Make-up and Wardrobe, Art Direction, Production Assistants.

Open Casting Call for kids to star in Mos Def feature film “Stringbean & Marcus” in Philadelphia

Casting Directors for a new independent film, “Stringbean & Marcus” starring Mos Def and Oscar nominated actress Sophie Okonedo, are holding an open casting call in Philadelphia on April 13.

The movie, written and directed by Philadelphia native, Tanya Hamilton, takes place in 1978 and focuses on the broken love affair between two former Black Panther members (Mos Def and Okonedo) and is told through the eyes of an adolescent girl.

The casting directors are looking for two African American, Hispanic or Asian boys ages eight to eleven and an African American girl age nine or ten.

They are specifically seeking the following:

Iris Wilson: African American Female, 9 or 10yrs old (lead role). Fiercely independent.

Francis Southerland: African American, Hispanic or Asian Male, 8yrs old (supporting role). Geek of all geeks.

Colin Dixon: African American Male, 11yrs. old (supporting role). Authority on everything.

Only the types listed will be seen . NO PHONE CALLS.

Talent must bring a current photo with contact information attached.

Previous experience is not necessary.

America's Top Model 13 Open Casting Call in New York

If you are an aspiring female model 5'7" or below, your chance to hit the runway is almost over. AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL returns to New York City on Saturday, April 11 to hold one final open call for Cycle 13. As previously announced, females age 18 to 27, of diverse backgrounds, shapes, sizes and with a height requirement of 5'7" and under are eligible to audition. Confirmed location will be posted to www.cwtv.com later this week.

PLEASE NOTE:

1. No lining up overnight and no lining up prior to 6:00am. Wristbands will be handed out the morning of the open call beginning at 7:00am.

2. Colors of wristbands indicate when you should return to the venue. We encourage you to leave and come back. There is no advantage to getting a wristband early.

3. Only women applying should stand in line. If someone is just short of being 18, she can have one guardian with her.

4. No jumping in line or holding places for others.

5. Casting staff will give special instructions for the disabled.

6. Once in the venue, no ins and outs.

7. Only one audition per open call – do not try again if you've been cut.

8. Casting staff wearing official ANTM gear outside the venue may ask you for information in advance but be careful who you talk to and avoid anyone trying to charge you anything to participate.
