Open Casting Call for Children to Perform at US Open in Arthur Ashe Stadium

The USTA will host its annual open casting call on Monday, June 8, at Radio City Music Hall to select children to perform at the 2009 US Open. Winners will perform live at Arthur Ashe Stadium during night sessions of this year’s US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

The auditions are free of charge. Children 12 years of age and younger as of Sept. 13, 2009, will be asked to sing “America the Beautiful” a cappella in front of a panel of celebrity judges from the music and entertainment industries (including Diana Degarmo, from season three of “American Idol” and Mark Indelicato from “Ugly Betty.”)

The USTA will announce the final selections in mid-July. The winners will receive tickets to their performance session — in addition to exposure in front of as many as 24,000 fans in Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Casting Call for TV Mini-Series "Alice" in Kamloops, near Vancouver, BC

Alice, a television mini-series starring Kathy Bates and based on the show Alice in Wonderland, will be filming in Kamloops, BC and they're looking for extras. The movie crew will be filming in Kamloops and surrounding areas from June 8 to 12. Additional filming will take place in Vancouver through August 5th, 2009. The film is being directed by Nick Willing, who also directed the NBC TV movie Alice In Wonderland that won 4 Primetime Emmy Awards.

Castings Director Kit Hayward is looking for men of all nationalities to play members of the Queen of Hearts' army, also known as The Suits. Applicants must be between 18 and 55 years old, have short hair and must have the Secret Service type or 1960s James Bond look.

They are also seeking men and women of all nationalities to play the role of tea shop patrons. These individuals must be between 18 and 50, look gaunt and thin with long hair.

Open Casting Call for feature film "The Best and the Brightest" in Philadelphia

The feature film "The Best and the Brightest" is now in production in Philadephia. Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) and Bonnie Somerville (Cashmere Mafia) will star and Josh Shelov (Mayne Street), who wrote the screenplay with Michael Jaeger, will direct.

Two young actors are needed, and casting director Mike Lemon is conducting an open casting call for an Asian or Asian American boy to play age 5 or 6 and a Hispanic or African American boy to play age 9 or 10.
