Oprah Winfrey is teaming up with reality show super-producer Mark Burnett for a new series on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network. Mark Burnett Productions has produced such hits as The Apprentice, Survivor, and Shark Tank among many others.
There will be open casting calls in four cities across the country seeking someone with great talent, a great personality, a great sense of humor, and dream to host their own talk show on The Oprah Winfrey Network.
The open casting calls will be held at Kohl's department stores. Here are the dates and locations:

At 8:00am wristbands will be distributed, and the casting calls begin at 9:00am. Only the first 500 people are guaranteed to be seen; additional people will be seen only if time allows. Some contestants may be invited to a call-back the following day for an on-camera audition. You must bring a completed application form with you to the open call. Click Here for the application form.
If you are unable to attend one of the open casting calls, you can upload a three minute audition video online. You should submit a three minute video of you selling them on one of five different Talk Show categories. You can focus your talk show on a Traditional Talk Show, Cooking, Interior Design and Fashion, Health and Wellbeing, or a Wildcard - any other topic that you are passionate about - AND would have big ratings!
The original series will feature a “host boot camp” as contestants compete in various challenges relevant to hosting and developing a television show. Challenges will range from booking interviews and researching story ideas, to successfully completing an actual screen test. At the end of the series, the person selected to be the winner will receive a commitment for his or her own show, executive produced by Mark Burnett, and scheduled to premiere on OWN in 2011.
Make very careful to follow the submission guidelines. They do not want logos and brands, or copyrighted music used in your video. They don't want you to include your contact information in the video.
You are allowed to attend an open casting call AND upload an audition video on the website.

Universal Pictures Ron Howard film "Heartless" open casting call in Chicago
Ron Howard is gearing up to direct a Universal Pictures feature film starring Vince Vaughn, Winona Ryder, and Kevin James. Shooting will take place from May 25, 2010 to August 6, 2010 in Chicago, Illinois. Release date is scheduled for January 14th 2011.
The film has been in pre-production under the working titles of "Your Cheating Heart" and "Cheaters", but the production office address in Chicago is called "Heartless Productions, LLC".
There will be an open casting call on May 22, 2010 for extras to appear in the film. The extras casting directors is seeking all types of people, any ethnicity, from children to senior citizens. They are also seeking people who are Chicago Blackhawk fans to show up wearing Chicago Blackhawks gear (official NHL licensed jerseys, T-shirts, hats, sweaters, foam fingers, etc.). The dates and locations are now set for the 2010 NBC Universal “Stand-Up for Diversity” comedy search. Comedians of diverse backgrounds are welcome to attend the open auditions. Every year NBC Universal chooses several cities across the USA and holds both auditions and live showcases of the best diverse stand-up comedians from that area. At the conclusion of the comedy talent search, a select group of comedians are flown to Los Angeles to perform for top industry players at NBC Universal and industry-wide.
Many of the comics from the NBC Universal Stand-Up for Diversity program have signed with top Hollywood agents, met with the entertainment industry's leading casting directors and executives, and launched new career milestones.

Paramount Vantage open casting call for feature film lead roles
Paramount Vantage and Gran Via Productions are in pre-production on a David Chase feature film and will be holding an open casting call on Saturday, May 8, 2010. David Chase is known for being the Creator/Executive Producer/Chief Writer of The Sopranos, and he will serve as Producer/Writer/Director of this film. Mark Johnson of Gran Via Productions will co-produce.
Paramount Vantage is the specialty film division of Paramount Pictures, charged with producing, purchasing, distributing and marketing films that are generally those with a more "art house" feel than films made and distributed by its parent company. One recent success of Paramount Vantage was "No Country for Old Men" which won an Academy Award for Best Picture at the 80th Academy Awards. Mark Johnson's Gran Via has produced such films as Dragonfly, The Notebook, and My Sister's Keeper.
Here is what the casting director, Ellen Chenoweth, is seeking:
Males between the ages of 18 and 25.
DOUGLAS: A high school student of Italian heritage. Douglas isn't athletic, very much in the background at school. He is heavily influenced by the blues and by bands like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and The Yardbirds. He becomes the drummer and back up vocalist of his buddy's band.
WELLS: An artistic, upper class guitar player for the band. Wells is probably the most intelligent of the group.
RONNY: Much different from Douglas, Ronny is very athletic, unpredictable and the "King Rocker" in his small town. He is the lead singer of their band.

Prior acting experience is welcome, but not required. Musical experience is a plus. Those interested in auditioning should bring ID and a recent photo (and resume if available) with contact information (name, phone number, email, etc.) written on the back. The photo will not be returned.
