Showtime series pilot 'Homeland' auditions and open casting calls

New Showtime programming chief David Nevins has given the series pilot order for "Homeland," which will be filmed in and around the Charlotte, NC area in January. The production is currently casting principal actors in Los Angeles, and also casting extras in North Carolina to appear on the show. There will be an open casting call, and talent can also submit via email or postal mail.

Primetime Emmy winning Howard Gordon, Primetime Emmy nominated Alex Gansa, and the talented Director/Writer/Producer Gideon Raff all co-wrote the series pilot and will together serve as executive producers. Gorden and Gansa were executive producers on the hit Fox Network series "24" and "The X-Files".

Loosely based on Gideon Raff’s Israeli series "Prisoners of War", "Homeland" follows U.S. Marine Sergeant Scott Brody, who 10 years earlier disappeared in Iraq, then resurfaced and has recently recovered from injuries suffered during a drone strike. Carrie Anderson, an intelligent, driven CIA officer, gets a tip that Body, who is being feted as a returning war hero, actually has switched sides and will direct an imminent attack against the U.S. on American soil.

Tony Award-winning and Golden Globe nominated actor Mandy Patinkin will play the role of 63 year old CIA Division Chief emeritus Saul Berenson. Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award winning actress Claire Danes has signed on to portray Carrie Anderson.

Showtime Networks "Dexter" director Michael Cuesta will helm the pilot episode of "Homeland".

In addition to the series starring role of "Scott Brody," numerous principal actor roles are being cast out of Los Angeles including the Vice President of the United States, a 12 year old boy, several male and females ages 17-24 pot smoking teen types, a surreptitious and tenuous mid 30's female, a Military General, reporters, soldiers for flashback scenes, etc.

The following types are also needed for extras:

● Military Men and Women
● Police and Secret Service types
● Government and Political types (Staffers, Aides, Senators, CIA agents)
● Men of Middle Eastern, Greek, Lebanese, Persian, Hispanic, Colombian, Indian and Turkish descent.
● Computer Tech types
● An Excellent Male Squash player in their 30’s
● A Stenographer with her own machine
● A lead guitarist type in early 20’s
● As well as Males and Females of All AGES and TYPES

If you fit any of the above descriptions or know of someone who does, please attend or have them attend the Homeland Open Casting Call, or submit by mail or email.
