Story:

As her soul enters the gates of Heaven, she finds herself declared a "zero-zero" (meaning she has performed zero good deeds and zero bad deeds during her time on earth; she is simply shallow) by the gatekeeper, Fred (Ben Feldman). After not liking what she hears, she presses for a return to her former body, hoping to get back to Earth. Deb gets her wish (by willfully pressing a computer key she should not have), only to be brought back to life in the body of a recently deceased, brilliant, hardworking, overweight lawyer named Jane Bingum (Brooke Elliott). Initially horrified, Deb – in her new human form – discovers the meaning of inner beauty as she finds the ability to juggle legal cases, aided by her assistant Teri (Margaret Cho), while attempting to reconnect incognito with her still-grieving boyfriend, Grayson Kent (Jackson Hurst), who just started working at Jane's law firm. At the same time, Deb begins to rediscover her past while learning more about her inherited body's current life, and how Jane was treated when she was alive. In addition to Fred (who was demoted to guardian angel and has been assigned to watch over her at the law firm), only Deb's long-time mortal friend Stacy (April Bowlby) knows Jane's true identity.

Universal Pictures Tom Cruise Talent Search

This Tom Cruise starring vehicle will hit theaters on theaters July 19, 2013
AB Media Publishing, LLC

Universal Pictures is currently conducting an international talent search for a lead role in a major feature film with a $100 million dollar budget starring Tom Cruise. Actors who wish to be considered can send in a hardcopy photo and resume to the casting directors, or submit a video audition on the film's official casting website. Shooting will take place in mostly in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Additional filming will take place in Los Angeles, New York, and the country of Iceland. Principal photography will begin on March 19, 2012 and continue through August 12, 2012.

American television commercial and feature film director Joseph Kosinski will direct the film which is based on the graphic novel called "Oblivion" that he wrote himself. The title of this film was originally the same as the novel, then was being called "Horizons", and now is being referred to as "Untitled TC" or "Untitled Tom Cruise Project". In August 2010, Walt Disney Pictures acquired the rights to "Oblivion", but attempts at a PG rating were unsuccessful and Universal Pictures acquired the rights. Academy Award winning writer William Monahan and Karl Gajdusek wrote the first drafts of the script, with final rewrites by Academy Award winning scribe Michael Arndt.

Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark are producing through Chernin Entertainment, along with Joseph Kosinski, Steve Gaub, and Radical Pictures's Barry Levine. Jesse Berger, Executive Vice President of Radical Studios, will executive produce with Dave Morrison. Radical Studios has an impressive lineup of future film projects including the DreamWorks SKG Sam Raimi directed Sci-Fi "Earp: Saints for Sinners," the Bryan Singer directed "Freedom Formula," the Sam Worthington starring vehicle "Damaged," and the Brett Ratner directed action adventure "Hercules: The Thracian Wars".

"Untitled Tom Cruise Project" is a love story that is set against a post-apocalyptic landscape. It's about a soldier who's been court-martialed and as part of his punishment, he’s sent to patrol this planet and maintains a fleet of droids and probes that comb the surface, searching out a primitive alien race that’s been defeated. When he discovers a mysterious woman who left on a science mission 60 years earlier and crash lands, the two must traverse a chain of events that unfolds extreme mystery and adventure.

Starring with Tom Cruise is the beautiful Ukrainian-born actress and model Olga Kurylenko, who plays his right-hand woman and lover. Olga Kurylenko, best known for her role as Bond Girl Camille in "Quantum of Solace", has carved out an impressive acting resume with roles in such films as "Max Payne," "Land of Oblivion" which she also executive produced, "The Expatriate," "Empires of the Deep," "Seven Psychopaths," and a recently wrapped untitled Terrence Malik film. Gorgeous British actress Andrea Riseborough will play the Mysterious Woman who crash lands on Earth. Riseborough, who trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, is a rising star who's credits include "Resistance," "Shadow Dancer," and Madonna's Academy Award nominated film "W.E."

Open casting calls for Stephenie Meyer's 'The Host' in Baton Rouge

The Host Open Casting Calls

Filming on "The Host" runs from February 13th through April 20, 2012.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

The long anticipated feature film adaptation of author Stephenie Meyer's "The Host" is now ready to begin shooting in February, 2012. The extras casting director in Louisiana is accepting appointments for casting calls in Baton Rouge. Both men and women are needed, however this is for adults 18 years of age and older. Any open calls for teens and children will be posted as they become available. You need not be a resident of Louisiana to be considered, however you must be located in the area during filming, and have the proper paperwork.

"The Host" is a Sci-Fi Thriller that introduces an alien race, called Souls, which takes over the Earth and its inhabitants. Melanie "Mel" Stryder (Saoirse Ronan) is one of the only rebel humans left after the invasion of the "souls". After insertion into a human body, alien souls erase the human occupant and establish claim over the body and mind. Wanderer is a soul who has lived on eight other planets previously, Mel being her ninth body host. Upon insertion into Melanie, Wanderer is overwhelmed by the vividness of human memories, emotions and senses and quickly learns that she has not established full claim over Melanie's mind. The title "The Host" comes from the perspective of the main character, Wanderer, because her "host" Melanie forever changes the way she sees the world.

Also starring in "The Host" is Bradley Steven Perry as Jamie Stryder, Melanie's younger brother. Perry stars in the Disney Channel hit series "Good Luck Charlie" and has appeared in the Disney movies "Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure" and "Old Dogs". Max Irons plays Jared Howe and Jake Abel portrays Ian O'Shea - the two characters that vie for the love of Malanie Stryder, ala Team Jacob and Team Edward. Irons recently had a supporting role in "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke's "Red Riding Hood". Abel is best known for "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" for which he was nominated for an MTV Movie Award and Teen Choice Award. Academy Award winner William Hurt rounds out the currently cast roles, playing Melanie's eccentric uncle Jebediah "Jeb".

Academy award nominated Andrew Niccol will direct "The Host" from an adapted screenplay that he wrote himself. His writer/director credits include Academy Award nominated "Gattaca," "The Truman Show" which was nominated for three Academy Awards, "The Terminal," "Lord of War" starring Nicolas Cage, and "In Time" starring Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried.

Paula Mae Schwartz, Roger Schwartz, and Steve Schwartz will produce "The Host" for Chockstone Pictures, which was founded in 2004 by the husband-and-wife team of Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz, who are also the founders of a technology marketing agency called Schwartz Communication. Nick Wechsler is producing for his company Nick Wechsler Productions. Stephenie Meyer will also produce. Executive producers are Jim Seibel and Bill Johnson of Inferno Entertainment, along with Claudia Bluemhuber of Silver Reel, and Marc Butan.

Open Road Films has acquired domestic distribution rights to "The Host". Tom Ortenberg, CEO of Open Road Films stated, "Nick Wechsler is a terrific producer and a long time friend and we are honored to be working with Nick and Stephenie, and the wonderful minds of Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz, to bring this epic story of hope to the big screen". Open Road Films recently signed a deal with with AMC and Regal movie theater chains to carry all of their films. Regarding Open Road Films, Stephenie Meyer’s stated, "I’m thrilled to be adding another fantastic partner to an already amazing group. Everyone involved has so much passion for the project. It really is a dream team".

Principal photography on "The Host" will begin on February 13, 2012 in Louisiana. The film and is scheduled to hit theaters on Easter weekend March 29, 2013 - less than six months after "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" is released in theaters.

Gavin Hood has directed such films as "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," "Rendition," and the Academy Award winning "Tsotsi". Hood also acts occasionally, most notably in "In Enemy Hands" and the "Stargate SG-1" episode "Lockdown".

"Ender's Game" focuses around the Battle School, a space station used as a military training complex for children. The IF tests all children on Earth and selects the brightest for the Battle School for military training. Students are organized into armies with 40 members with a commander and assigned to conduct simulated battles in zero gravity. The Battle School forms in response to the need of highly skilled officers for the wars against an alien race called Formics (also known as "buggers"). Story:

It's 2070, forty years since a devastating alien invasion was barely turned back, and the world is desperately searching for soldiers to lead them to victory when the "Buggers" come again. That's why they're drafting young children who pass a rigorous screening, and sending the best of them to the orbiting Battle School, where they are trained from childhood to be ready for war in the vertiginous reaches of space. Into the unending pressure of military training comes six-year-old Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, who struggles to keep his humanity even as the adult teachers, rivals among his fellow students, and the strange unseen influence of the alien invaders all threaten either to destroy him or to make him into someone he can't bear to be.
