Open casting call in Georgia for Warner Bros. Pictures feature film 'Prisoners'

Conyers Prisoners Open Casting Call

"Prisoners" begins production January, 2013 in Georgia.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

Alcon Entertainment in association with 8:38 Productions and Madhouse Entertainment are currently in pre-production on the crime thriller feature film "Prisoners" for Warner Bros. Pictures. Filming will begin in January, 2013 in Conyers, GA which is twenty four miles east of Atlanta. The local casting director is holding an open casting call seeking men and women of any ethnicity, ages 18 and over, with or without experience working as a movie extra. There are also some speaking roles being cast locally. The film is scheduled to be released on September 20, 2013.

"Prisoners" tells the story of a carpenter named Keller Dover living in a small town whose six year old daughter is kidnapped along with her best friend. There are a series of "prisoners" who are suspects in the abductions, such as a creepy wannabe named Bob Taylor who enjoys dressing up child-size mannequins, dredging the clothing in pig's blood and burying the "remains; and a priest named Father Dunn who admits to killing a man who had confessed to murdering many children. After Dover becomes jaded by the police, especially brash Detective Loki, he takes another man prisoner and pushed the limits trying to force the man to give up the location of his daughter, all the while he begins to lose his own soul.

Starring in "Prisoners" is Golden Globe Award nominee Hugh Jackman in the lead role of Keller Dover; Academy Award nominee Jake Gyllenhaal playing Detective Loki; two-time Golden Globe Award nominee Maria Bello portrays Grace Dover, the wife of Jackman's character. Academy award winner Melissa Leo has joined the cast as well as BAFTA Film Award nominee Paul Dano, and two-time Academy Award nominee Viola Davis.

BAFTA Film Award nominee Denis Villeneuve will direct from an original screenplay written by Aaron Guzikowski. Villeneuve is a Canadian filmmaker whose 2011 Sony Pictures feature film "Incendies" was nominated for an Academy Award in the category of Best Foreign Language Film. This will be his second film in a row directing Jake Gyllenhaal, as they recently wrapped filming the thriller "An Enemy". Aaron Guzikowski's lone previous writing credit was Universal Pictures "Contraband" starring Mark and Robert Wahlberg.

Executive producing is five-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee Stephen Levinson, who also produced writer Aaron Guzikowski's film "Contraband". Also executive producing is Madhouse Entertainment's Robyn Meisinger, along with John H. Starke and Edward McDonnell. Academy Award nominees Broderick Johnson and Andrew A. Kosove will produce for Alcon Entertainment. Also producing is Kira Davis of 8:38 Productions, and Adam Kolbrenner will oversee production for Madhouse Entertainment.

When:

Sunday, December 9, 2012
12:00pm - 6:00pm

Come to the open casting call dressed as one of the types as your photo WILL be taken. You may also bring photos if you have them as well. The suburban/rural types should just be medium casual, Winter colors, and the other types can come in any uniform and/or scrubs, if you can, but again, not mandatory. The key is to look natural and not downscale or upscale or a forced look. BRING PHOTO ID and you must be legal to work in the U.S., with a working Social Security Number or proper paperwork. You are encouraged to bring your acting resumes IF you have one, as there will be several featured acting roles.

The director and producers of this film value the look of the extras more so than usual. The look is extremely important to them, and this is very intense story. The casting directors will be submitting your photos and putting picture boards together for approval, and they CANNOT be professional or touched up photos. REALISM is the key on this film, and they will be hesitant to present or book anyone they either have not seen in person at some point in the past year, or if the photos you submit are only professional photos with an unnatural look. They also need to see at least 3/4 of your body frame and not just your face in one photo. This film requires that you look NATURAL and EVERYDAY REAL, therefore your photos should reflect how you really look, no matter what your look is.

Open casting call for major film 'Race to Save Nome' actors and extras

Race to Save Nome Open Casting Call

Filming on 'Race to Save Nome' will take place January 14, 2013 - April 4, 2013.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

Freedom Films in association with Nome Productions are now in pre-production on the upcoming true story adventure feature film "Race to Save Nome," based on the Great Race of Mercy - also known as the 1925 serum run to Nome. An open casting call is scheduled for all types, ages 8 - 70, males and females. There are some speaking roles being cast, as well as numerous extras. Shooting will take place from January 14, 2013 through April 4, 2013 in the Morley, Alberta area of Canada which is about 30 miles from Calgary. Second-unit production filming will also take place in Alaska. The reason for shooting the film in Alberta is because the production involves the construction of the town of Nome, which would present a significant logistical challenge in Alaska, particularly without roads to deliver the setpiece.

The film tells the true story of a deadly diphtheria outbreak that occurred in Nome in the dead of winter 1925. Since the fastest way to deliver the serum was by dog sled, 20 brave mushers and their dogs battled horrific arctic conditions in a relay to save lives in Nome, which was was dubbed the "Great Race of Mercy". The story especially centers on Norwegian Leonhard "Sepp" Seppala and his lead dog Togo, who were the true unsung heroes of the run as together they covered the longest and most hazardous leg - 91 miles from Shaktoolik to Golovin. Sepp had become something of a legend for his athletic ability and rapport with his Siberian Huskies. His lead dog Togo was equally famous for his leadership, intelligence, and ability to sense danger.

Starring in "Race to Save Nome" is two-time Daytime Emmy Award nominee Brian Presley as Leonhard "Sepp" Seppala; Golden Globe Award nominee Kurt Russell plays Dr. Curtis Welch, Nome's sole doctor; Two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank is Sepp's wife Constance, and Dr. Welch's head nurse. Also in the film is Primetime Emmy nominated Giovanni Ribisi; two-time Golden Globe Award nominee Sam Elliott; Academy Award and Golden Globe Award nominee William H. Macy; and Golden Globe Award winner John Goodman.

In addition to starring in "Race to Save Nome," Brian Presley is also producing and directing from a screenplay that he wrote with Warren Davis. Presley is CEO and partner of Freedom Films, which specializes in the development and production of studio quality, independently financed motion pictures. Presley is set to produce over $200 million worth of film projects over the next four years through a highly promising slate of films. Freedom Films Head of Production Scott Robinson will executive produce.

Open Casting Call Details

The film is re-creating Nome, Alaska back in 1925, therefore the town consisted of Aboriginal people and Caucasian people. The location casting directors are seeking men, women, and children, ages 8 to 70, to work as fully paid background performers on the film. Families are welcome and encouraged to attend. In addition to hundreds of extras, there are some speaking roles also being cast, and the principal actor casting director will be present at the open call. People chosen to work on the film will be notified in December. Transportation from Calgary to the set will be provided.

Story:

Race to Save Nome is based on the incredible events in 1925, when a deadly diphtheria epidemic swept through the secluded, forgotten city of Nome, Alaska. The local doctor Curtis Welch (Kurt Russel) discovers that he has no antitoxin and without this, more children will die, possibly in the thousands. The life-saving serum is 674 miles away, the port is completely icebound and planes are not able to withstand the blizzard-like conditions. The only hope of getting the serum to Nome is by means of dog-sled. Through treacherous conditions and with little chance of survival, a team of mushers relay the serum to the desperate city. One man, Leonhard "Sepp" Seppala (Brian Presley), and his dog Togo took on the most difficult and longest route of the relay. Never truly credited for their heroism, this is the true, courageous and heart-warming story of Sepp and his dog, Togo.
