The open casting calls will take place in Peekskill, NY on consecutive Saturdays, Oct. 10 and 17, from 12 to 6 p.m. Both acting roles and extras are being cast for the film.

"Peekskill" is about a married photographer who develops a relationship with a young woman after they connect on Instragram. It is a morality tale that revolves around social media. Colin Bemis is directing, from a screenplay that he wrote himself.

Where:

Beahive
1008 Main Street
Peekskill, NY 10566

When:

October 10th, 2015 from 12:00pm - 6:00pm
October 17th, 2015 from 12:00pm - 6:00pm

Please RSVP a spot at the open casting call by e-mailing a request to colindbemis@gmail.com

Roles Available:

Ellis Archer (KEY SUPPORTING)
Male; 27 – 37 years old.
Ellis is a complicated man. Single and layered but more introverted than his producing and directing partner, Errol, he is the cinematographer on a documentary that he and Errol have embarked on shooting together. At times quiet but defensive when needed, Ellis doesn’t shy away from confrontation and is always sure to express himself when the occasion calls for it.

Mikala (KEY SUPPORTING)
Female; 25 – 35 years old
Absolutely ESSENTIAL role. Mikala is a flawed, beautiful, vulnerable but headstrong woman who was once romantically involved with our lead character. Mother to Gabriella (see below.) More in person!

Gabriella (KEY SUPPORTING)
Female; 5 – 8 years old
This is a great role. The daughter of Mikala, Gabriella is a brave, loud and endlessly happy little girl. A few major scenes for this little one.

Norman
Male; 55 – 70 years old.
An old school, rough and tumble type with medium intelligence and a huge mouth. Kind at heart but a loud presence, Norman’s interactions with those around him always spark either comedic outrage or downright laughter.

Franklin
Male; 35 – 45 years old.
Franklin is the type of solid, stocky, hard-working co-worker we all have worked with at one point or another. He got his job young at the packing and carting plant with Norman, and is a career man there, never to stray. He does what he’s told but has his own opinions, even while keeping his head down and a smile on his face the whole time.

Mark
Male; 25 – 40 years old.
The ever-necessary and always important sound person on the film with Errol and Ellis, Mark is almost always behind the scenes. He is also adept at film technology, usually being the one to assist Ellis in rigging cameras, mounting equipment, and many other odds and ends.

Male Senior Citizen
Male; 70 + years old
This is a delightful little walk-on role for someone who would love the chance to be on-screen in a film!

Female Senior Citizen
Female; 70+ years old
This is a delightful little walk-on role, just as above!

Popcorn Lady
Female; 18 – 60 years old
Age does not matter! Two lines of dialogue. Another great, fun role albeit a minor one.

Cleaning Man
Male; 18 – 60 years old
One line of dialogue. Good chance to be on screen!

Young Boy (Jeffrey)
Male; 7 – 13 years old
While he hasn’t any dialogue, this is a particularly funny scene that will long be remembered. I can’t say more than that right now, but this is a worthy one!

Boy’s Mother
Female; 25 – 45 years old
See above description.

Middle-Aged Woman
Female; 35 – 65 years old
This role has no dialogue, but requires a bit of violence. If you want to be a part of a brutal (but totally safe!) moment in a dramatic part of a film, here’s your chance! (No more spoilers, though!)

Lana (KEY SUPPORTING)
Female; 30 – 40 years old
This is a truly unique and very essential role for our film. Lana is an absolutely fire-hearted, strong woman whose firm moral grounding and unalterable focus is never in question. She is a proud mother of two, husband to Errol (KEY SUPPORTING), but the driving force of the family, sans question.

Maggie
Female; 7 – 12 years old
Maggie is Lana and Errol’s daughter. A few key scenes!

Jake
Male; 7 – 12 years old
Jake is Lana and Errol’s son. Also a few key scenes!

Smacking Man
Male; 18 – 50 years old
Odd character title, I’m well aware! This is a dialogue-less role but one that interacts briefly with our main character.

Mrs. Tanner
Female; 25 – 45 years old
A woman who becomes an unsuspecting victim (though survives!) to a random act of terror. Emotionally charged and thrilling scene. For adrenaline junkies and those who want to be part of a truly horrifying scene!

Tanner Boy
Male; 7 – 15 years old
The son of Mrs. Tanner who has a brief encounter in the same scene as listed above with our lead character.

Monica
Female; 25 – 40 years old
A friend to our main character (though she doesn’t recognize him at first, generating a particularly harrowing scene before we cut the tension), she shares some reminiscing lines of dialogue with the lead. Great scene.

Psychologist
Female or Male; 40 – 70 years old
A very dialogue-heavy scene, this character has several pages of back-and-forth with our lead character. She/he is wise, stern and serious. A fun role with lots of lines.

Trevor
Male; 30 – 55 years old
A work friend of our lead character. Several lines of dialogue.

Nancy
Female; 65 – 80 years old
Another character who is unfortunately at the wrong place at the wrong time when a menacing character comes calling. A mildly physical but truly fun scene to play!
