Feature film 'My Idiot Brother' open casting calls for dancers in New York

Oscar nominated producers Peter Saraf and Marc Turtletaub (Little Miss Sunshine) are teaming up with Anthony Bregman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) to produce the upcoming feature film "My Idiot Brother" starring Paul Rudd, Zooey Deschanel, Elizabeth Banks, and Emily Mortimer. Casting directors are seeking people who have a sense of rhythm and physicality to participate in a FLASHMOB scene for the film. A 'flashmob' is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and pointless act for a brief time, then disperse.

They are seeking professional dancers who are available to work either Saturday July 31, 2010 or Thursday August 5, 2010. These are Night shoots that will require an all night commitment. This means you absolutely must be available to work the entire night, into the early morning hours, with no conflicts whatsoever. The shoot on Saturday, July 31 will be shot indoors. The shoot on Thursday, August 5 will take place outdoors.

SAG members will be paid at the Special Ability rate, per your contract. Non Union background will be paid at a standard rate of $85 based on a 10 hour day.

If you are interested in participating, casting directors will be holding open casting calls. Please come to the open call ready to show your sense of rhythm and physicality, along with a US Passport or a Drivers License/State ID and a Social Security Card. All documents must be originals!

To be considered, you must attend one of the open casting calls. Arrive ready to show your sense of rhythm and physicality. Please bring a US Passport or a Drivers License/State ID and a Social Security Card. All documents must be originals, no copies accepted.

Producers: Anthony Bregman, Peter Saraf, Marc Turtletaub

Director: Jesse Peretz

Starring: Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, Emily Mortimer, Rashida Jones, Adam Scott

Story:

In the comedy Rudd plays Ned Banks, an idealist dealing with his overbearing mother who crashes into the homes of his three ambitious sisters and, in succession, brings truth, happiness and a sunny disposition into their lives while also wreaking havoc. Banks, Deschanel and Mortimer will play the sisters. Banks is a career-driven single about to get her big break in journalism after spending years writing about accessories at a fashion magazine; Deschanel is a bisexual whose flakiness and lies are getting in the way of moving forward with her caring, responsible girlfriend (Jones); and Mortimer plays a Park Slope mom too worried about having the perfect life and children to notice that her marriage is falling apart.
