The independent comedy western film "A Night In Old Mexico" starring Academy Award winner Robert Duvall, is holding an open casting call in Texas for both speaking roles and extras. The project is also using the working title of "Skydance". Shooting will take place in Austin, Texas as well as the Brownsville area, where the open casting call is being held. In addition to actors and extras, Stand-ins and Photo Doubles for lead actors are also needed. Children, teens, adults, and seniors are all needed. Principal photography begins on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. The film tells the story of a cranky Texas rancher who is forced to give up his land and move to a trailer park, and takes a last wild ride with his estranged grandson where both learn life lessons.

Emilio Aragon will direct "A Night In Old Mexico" from a screenplay written by Writers Guild of America WGA Award winner Bill Wittliff. Aragon is president of laSexta, which is a production company and television network in Spain. Sunmin and Ethan Park of Maxmedia will produce "A Night In Old Mexico". Prospect Park Head of Film Rob Carliner will also produce this third Robert Duvall/Prospect Park collaboration. Duvall will produce under the banner of his company, Butcher's Run Films.

"A Night In Old Mexico" writer Bill Wittliff will also serve as one of the film's producers. Wittliff has written such hit screenplays as "The Black Stallion," "The Cowboy Way," "Legends of the Fall," "The Perfect Storm," and the mini-series "Lonesome Dove". He also won a Bronze Wrangler award from the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. In 1995, he won another Bronze Wrangler for Legends of the Fall. Witliff also received Austin Film Festival's Distinguished Screenwriter Award in 1996.

Robert Duvall has been trying to get "A Night In Old Mexico" made into a film since 2004. Bill Wittliff wrote it in the 70's and the script has achieved almost mythic status amongst writers in the entertainment industry. Originally, the plan was to shoot almost exclusively in Mexico, however Duvall was quoted by The Wrap as stating, "you can’t really make this kind of movie about that area near the (U.S./Mexico) border anymore – it’s too dangerous. The problem is, in Texas they’ll give you money if you want to make a movie about religion, or if you want to make Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3. Anything else, they’ve got all that money down there, but they’ll just sit on it." The location managers eventually decided on Texas standing in for Mexico.
