Paramount Pictures "The Last Airbender" Open Casting Call in Philadelphia

The M. Night Shyamalan film The Last Airbender - aka "Avatar: The Last Airbender" (working title) is scheduled to be released in theaters July 2, 2010 and the trailer has been all over the Internet and small screen. However scenes for the film are still being shot. Paramount Pictures will be holding a General Open Casting Call in Philadelphia, PA seeking the following:

● Physically fit Men and Women 18 - 65 years of age.

● Boys and Girls 6 - 16 years of age.

● Martial-arts skills a plus.

This is for Day Player actors, Special Ability background actors, and extras. Both SAG members and non-union people may attend. Scenes will be shot locally in the Philadelphia area. Must be available from March 22, 2010 through May 22, 2010.

Dress casually, wearing your Karate Gi, or come in the traditional costume of your family's ethnic background. Your photo and information will be taken.

SAG members bring your paid-up membership card and you will be pushed to the front of the line.

If you have worked on the film before, you must still attend the open call or email in your updated photos and information.

Based on the hugely successful animated TV series, the film is set in a world where human civilization is divided into four nations: air, water, earth and fire. The film follows the adventures of the successor to a long line of Avatars who must put aside his irresponsible ways and stop the Fire Nation from enslaving the Water, Earth and Air nations. The film stars Jackson Rathbone, Dev Patel, and newcomer Nicola Peltz.
